88 SPATIAL INTERNATIONAL The Cartography Datasets are a component of the comprehensive Exploration and Production Database. As such this geographic module provides the foundation for hundreds of thousands of highquality maps, distributed annually to the petroleum industry as well as the background features of IHS data browsers and GIS applications. These geographical features are subject to continuous updates and detailed validation ensuring consistency with other IHS data modules and also International standards. They are also included in the workflow of internal spatial validations. These layers are delivered as Esri ArcSDE layers, File Geodatabase or through standard IHS Products EDIN or EDIN Desktop and Spatial layers.
