97 INTERNATIONAL IHS | www.ihs.com OVERVIEW The IHS Energy Infrastructure and Markets Database offerings provides critical information on key links in the oil and gas chain from the wellhead to primary end-users including Pipelines, Storage, LNG, Refineries, Power Generation, Primary Petrochemicals, Large Industrials and Gas Distribution data. Our database enhancement program in 2013 included improvements in the spatial accuracy of pipelines routes and facility locations as well as more detail in shareholders structures for joint ventures. We also have provided greater process details for gas plants as well as increasing the oil storage coverage. Globally we updated more than 41,000 facilities and 370,000 kilometers of pipelines in 2013. Complete United States coverage with ongoing new projects updating is now provided for our all our subjects (exclusive of ports). Also over 15,000 major industrial facilities in the United States have updated information on energy consumption by fuel type, available for subscribers of the US Major Industrial Plant Database (MIPD) that can now be accessed through EDIN. We continue to add to the depth of the data we provide with enhancements in 2013 including: »»More than 2,800 electric plants were added in Europe and more than 1,200 have data on their electricity production. »» Accurate location is now available for 43,000 facilities. »» Comprehensive review conducted for LNG liquefaction projects development status worldwide with particular focus on North America. »»More than 2,400 compressor stations and 145 pumping stations were added in the United States. »»With the flurry of activity in the pipeline sector in North America, we have added new pipeline projects and continue to monitor their progress. IHS experts source worldwide raw data in various formats and languages. The data is then standardized and validated prior to being incorporated in our database. The accuracy and the currency of our database are constantly reviewed according to the availability of new information.
